Lambton Toastmaster was formed in 2004 as a joint venture between the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA to help the business community to develop leadership and communication skills.
I have been a member of Lambton Toastmasters since 2007 and during that time I have been able to take on a leadership role in our organization by becoming part of the executive committee each year. During the 2011-2012 Toastmasters year I was our club President. Under my leadership our club was able to achieve Presidents Distinguished status, the highest ranking of a Toastmasters Club. Working towards my personal goals, I have successfully progressed through many levels of the Toastmaster program and my current designation is Advanced Communicator Silver, Advanced Leader Bronze.
An important part of the Toastmaster program is the mentorship program. I have been privileged to become a mentor to many new members and I have been able to watch them grow and push themselves beyond their comfort level in order to achieve their goals. I have plans to continue to mentor 2 new members each year going forward.
